Alexandra Lopez Iglesias: Vestiges
Saturday September 12th at 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Ends September 20, 2026
Keystone Art Space presents VESTIGES, a new body of work by Alexandra Lopez Iglesias. Through paper and clay sculptures, Lopez Iglesias creates and explores remnants on and within a body after being held, loved, neglected, touched, and seen. Paper and clay absorb, archive, and record, as well as resist, never renouncing their agency. They are not metaphors for the body, they are bodies.
Through acts of cutting, piercing, tearing, stitching, scraping, and scarring, Lopez Iglesias approaches her materials with reverence and sustained attention, yearning to reveal the beauty inherent in any body and discover what lies beneath the surface.
VESTIGES invites viewers into an intimate encounter where beauty and vulnerability coexist, and where what has long remained hidden can begin to emerge. The exhibition asks us to recognize our own bodies in the bodies before us, suggesting that the simple act of beholding another carries the possibility of transformation.
