Somebody’s Baby is an exhibition of paintings born from decades of devouring obligatory television staples such as “The Brady Bunch” and “The Facts of Life,”along with cautionary tales including “Desperate Lives,” “Born Innocent,” and “Portrait of A Teenage Alcoholic” (and Shoplifter, and Runaway...)

Much of this work was created at Keystone, which Ashley joined in March of 2023. With these paintings, Ashley merges the lives of the perfect Blair Warner’s of the world with the malcontents of the seedy underworld depicted in the Teensploitation films, specifically those starring Linda Blair.

These paintings are an exploration of the rituals young girls go through while navigating insecurities and teenage theatrics.

Somebody’s Baby aims to transport you back to the good old exploitative days of the 1970s and 80s, where Marcia already has one foot in the gutter and Sue Ann has a 3 pack a day habit.

Welcome!
