Oh, Wow
Joshua Charles Hart

August 10 - 21

Reception
Saturday August 19, 6pm - 9pm

“Oh, Wow” is a term I’ve used the most in the last couple of years. Pandemic, Insurrection, Death, New Life. I hope the audience of this show comes to the gallery and can say “Oh, Wow” because they like something or hate it.

I'm always searching for something.  It might be a sound, a feeling.  When I’ve found something that I’ve latched on to I feel the need to create and share. Sometimes it’s literal, sometimes not so much.  I'm truly grateful when people try to analyze my paintings and let me know what they feel.  Often the characters in my paintings are speaking to the viewer.  Most times they are asking for help or letting you know how they feel. You’ve approached them at their most honest time in their existence.  “Oh, Wow” finds the Future with AI sentient robots finding emotion with song lyrics, the Past with prehistoric turtles and the Now with anxiety-soaked paintbrush strokes.

Joshua Charles Hart is an artist from Los Angeles. He graduated from Otis College of Art and Design in 2004 and was awarded “Best in Show” Illustration for his Senior thesis.

He has shown in galleries throughout North America since 2005.

His studio in West Hollywood is named after his late mother Lucille.

His family is what is most important to him outside of art and living a creative life.
